The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Raúl Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Miguel Ramos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Durval Donatello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 11th match minute, Verdadeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Cearense to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Verdadeira booed when Kamikaze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raúl Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Souto in the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Joélson Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Régis Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Raúl Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Emanuel Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Emanuel Meireles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Durval Donatello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Miguel Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durval Donatello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Ramos in the 34th minute. Raúl Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Raúl Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Verdadeira's goalkeeper Raúl Tepedino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Verdadeira's zone, Dorival Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Tepedino came out of the goal and Dorival Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Meireles to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Régis Souto put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Raúl Tepedino. 59 minutes into the match, Kamikaze's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Ramos came free, but Durval Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Raúl Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Dedê Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kamikaze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 66th minute of the match Eriberto Mendonça completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Eriberto Mendonça a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Kamikaze's Eriberto Mendonça got a free kick in the 67th minute. Durval Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Chico Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Durval Donatello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Meireles went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Durval Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Ramos in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Kamikaze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Ramos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 3-1 became the score in the 90th minute when Miguel Ramos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Joélson Guimarães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Durval Donatello was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kamikaze players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Verdadeira.
