The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The goal made the score 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Piratas's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Amorim came free, but Severino Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Piratas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Pașcanu to maneuver through the defense. AF Industrial's Miguel Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save AF Industrial from getting a goal against them. Piratas's Nestor Veloso broke free in the 19th minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. An obvious chance of a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Delfim Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piratas's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th match minute, Piratas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandão Goiano to maneuver through the defense. Severino Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Amorim in the 26th minute of the match. After 28 minutes of play, AF Industrial's Cacá Medeiros made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Quintal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Elano Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piratas's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, AF Industrial's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nestor Veloso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Veloso got free with Miguel Queiroz in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Severino Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Amorim in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Amorim was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Eusébio Amorim made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Piratas's Severino Quintal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Severino Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséias Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58thth minute of the game Eusébio Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piratas's Severino Quintal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abel das Neves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Severino Quintal came out and tried to block the shot, but Abel das Neves slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 63rd minute. When Dorival Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AF Industrial's protests and gave Dorival Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. Severino Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Amorim in the 76th minute of play. AF Industrial's Miguel Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Veloso in the 78th minute of play. Eusébio Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Severino Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes of play, Piratas's Vintilă Remus made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as AF Industrial's Abel das Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Severino Quintal. That made the score 4-4 after 94 minutes of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AF Industrial walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
