With a little luck, F.C Fribourg's Durval Araújo got control of the ball when Rafa Vianna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Joélson Saldanha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Vargas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. F.C Fribourg were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laércio Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. Durval Araújo came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Seleção do Buteco's Laércio Mesquita. But to his dismay, Laércio Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. A collision led to F.C Fribourg getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Teodoro Maranhense hit a great ball. Joaquim da Silveira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Walmir Vianna hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. F.C Fribourg's Durval Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Queiroz in the 67th minute of play. Laércio Mesquita scored 4-3 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. F.C Fribourg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laércio Mesquita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-3. Seleção do Buteco's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
