In the 17th minute, Lauro Chaves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Opera OMNES's José Vítor Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Trigo in the 19th minute of play. Erasmo Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Agostinho Nascimento made a huge save. José Vítor Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Vítor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Opera OMNES's Manuel Meireles slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Agostinho Nascimento. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. Opera OMNES's Manuel Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duarte Pimenta got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Duarte Pimenta hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Timão United's Silvinho Prado in action when he in the 46th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Bastos to strike the kick off in the second half. After 65 minutes of play, Timão United's Olívio Medeiros made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Vítor Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Gugu Linhares fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Opera OMNES's protests and gave Gugu Linhares a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Opera OMNES got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Linhares. The supporters of Timão United booed when Opera OMNES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis da Costa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 79th minute, Manuel Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Opera OMNES's José Vítor Quirino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Opera OMNES from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, Opera OMNES's Erasmo Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agostinho Nascimento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Erasmo Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opera OMNES's supporters rose to their feet, but Erasmo Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agostinho Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Silvinho Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Vítor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Timão United were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
