The Seleção do Buteco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Edvaldo Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Seleção do Buteco's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvaldo Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertinho Dantas was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. Umberto Falcão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Joel Vargas made a huge save. Laércio Mesquita scored 1-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio de Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Acara's Júlio de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Mesquita in the 43rd minute of play. Víktor Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Vargas having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Umberto Falcão made a kick off. Hudson Lopes's late challenge caught a Seleção do Buteco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hudson Lopes helped the player get up and apologised. 51 minutes into the game, one of Acara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Júlio de Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafa Vianna in the 54th minute. Umberto Falcão struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Joel Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acara. Durval Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edvaldo Arruda struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Júlio de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seleção do Buteco. With splendid footwork Laércio Mesquita arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-3 by the left pole in the game's 67th minute. Joel Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Falcão in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Seleção do Buteco's goal looked a bit too open when Sandrinho de Andrade came free, but Joel Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafa Vianna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Júlio de Toledo made a huge save. After 86 played minutes Seleção do Buteco got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Meirelles. Acara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seleção do Buteco the free kick. After a rather tough play, Acara's Víktor Damião got a free kick in the 90th minute. Joel Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Falcão in the 94th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Arruda in the 97th minute of play forced Acara's goalkeeper Júlio de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Seleção do Buteco had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
