After 5 minutes of play, Opera OMNES's Manuel Meireles made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aníbal de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! 8 minutes into the match, Pedro Bastos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aníbal de Almeida, 2-0. The supporters of Palmares FC booed when Opera OMNES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Palmares FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Bastos came free, but Aníbal de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wesley Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal de Almeida having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Opera OMNES's Luiz Guilherme Tróia got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Antônio Carlos Goiano in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Opera OMNES's Pedro Bastos. In the 39th match minute, Palmares FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 45 minutes, Manuel Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Opera OMNES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manuel Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal de Almeida having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Augusto Rezende made a kick off. The supporters of Palmares FC booed when Opera OMNES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Augusto Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perivaldo Amaral having to interfere. Aníbal de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Bastos in the 57th minute of play. In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Opera OMNES. Manuel Meireles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aníbal de Almeida. 4-0. After 71 minutes, Diogo Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmares FC and the Opera OMNES players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diogo Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Palmares FC's Aníbal de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Meireles in the 73rd minute of play. Pedro Bastos hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Antônio Carlos Goiano made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Opera OMNES's Pedro Bastos. After 84 played minutes Palmares FC got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Motta. Aníbal de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Guilherme Tróia went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Opera OMNES had played much better football throughout.
