After 9 played minutes Laje de Pedra got a freekick which was hit by Themis Kalokerinos. The supporters of Cobe SC booed when Laje de Pedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Arboleda didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Cobe SC's Jacinto Mesquita got control of the ball when Romário Baggio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romário Baggios short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Jacinto Mesquita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marquinhos Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisinho Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marquinhos Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. Romário Baggio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jacinto Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romário Baggios short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Jacinto Mesquita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 38th play minutes Romário Baggio shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Jacinto Mesquita and just under the crossbar into goal. After 47 played minutes Laje de Pedra got a freekick which was hit by Romário Baggio.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tony de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Tony de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laje de Pedra were furious when Themis Kalokerinos was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 59th match minute, Laje de Pedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Themis Kalokerinos to maneuver through the defense. When Jean Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Cobe SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean Rocha couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Albuquerque in the 61st minute of play forced Laje de Pedra's goalkeeper Luisinho Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Laje de Pedra fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Laje de Pedra's Dalmo Penha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 67 minutes into the game, Laje de Pedra's Dalmo Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto Mesquita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cobe SC's goalkeeper Jacinto Mesquita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Dalmo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 85th minute, Dalmo Penha made a precise shot to the right of Jacinto Mesquita. Cobe SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Dalmo Penha might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto Mesquita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalmo Penha ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacinto Mesquita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo Penha's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The supporters of Cobe SC booed when Laje de Pedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Baggio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Erik Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Arboleda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacinto Mesquita. Cobe SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Laje de Pedra players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
