Luisinho Martins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of S.E.R Mergulhão - RS booed when Laje de Pedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laje de Pedra's Luisinho Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Mello in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes of play, S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's Tiaguinho Soeiro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisinho Martins was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laje de Pedra's Luisinho Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamdullah Olgunsoy in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Tiaguinho Soeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisinho Martins. Laje de Pedra's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiaguinho Soeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 29 played minutes S.E.R Mergulhão - RS got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Pernambucano. Luisinho Martins came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's Tiaguinho Soeiro. But to his dismay, Tiaguinho Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Manfred Låsberg didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. After some careless play in the Laje de Pedra defense, Tiaguinho Soeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisinho Martins. The Laje de Pedra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisinho Martins should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Soeiro in the 42nd minute of play forced Laje de Pedra's goalkeeper Luisinho Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zekai Tefhim, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Luisinho Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamdullah Olgunsoy in the 45th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Dalmo Penha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Soeiro in the 54th minute of play forced Laje de Pedra's goalkeeper Luisinho Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Laje de Pedra's Luisinho Martins got control of the ball when Tiaguinho Soeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Romário Baggio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Manfred Låsberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Luiz Pitta hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Fryderyk Dejo in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's André Luiz Pitta. Luisinho Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Romário Baggio's late challenge caught a S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romário Baggio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st match minute, Laje de Pedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário Baggio to maneuver through the defense. Tiaguinho Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisinho Martins having to interfere. S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
