The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Tepedino in the 17th minute of play forced Cobe SC's goalkeeper Jacinto Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Vaz hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 23 minutes, Romeu Vaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cobe SC and the Itaberaba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Itaberaba booed when Cobe SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cobe SC's Jacinto Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Tepedino in the 24th minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Cobe SC's Romeu Vaz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinícius Sergipano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Tepedino in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacinto Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tostão Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the game, Erik Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cobe SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaberaba the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Cobe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Vargas to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto Mesquita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrick Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. If Patrick Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tostão Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rafinha Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jacinto Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Rafinha Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaberaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cobe SC the free kick. Rafinha Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Rafinha Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Mesquita having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Itaberaba's Tostão Barreto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Itaberaba's Vinícius Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony de Barros in the 95th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Itaberaba players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
