The supporters of Theozera booed when Recompensa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Jânio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Theozera's supporters rose to their feet, but Jânio Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But to his dismay, Didi de Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Theozera were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Didi de Sousa to make the kick off. Perivaldo Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th minute Didi de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerson Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
