Sydney da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Silvério Prado made a huge save. André Luís Souto hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. When Sydney da Mata fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC ITAJAI's protests and gave Sydney da Mata a yellow card for diving instead. Silvério Prado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sydney da Mata showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Silvério Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, PARMA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Melo came free, but Silvério Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sydney da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Damazy Kostrzewski hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Sydney da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC ITAJAI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sydney da Mata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvério Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. A hard shot by Sverker Hammarström from long distance, 38 minutes into the match, got Silvério Prado's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A collision led to SC ITAJAI getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Damazy Kostrzewski hit a great ball. After 42 played minutes PARMA FC got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Tinoco. In the 45th minute of the match Sverker Hammarström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvério Prado skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Tinoco made a kick off. Damazy Kostrzewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Telmo Melo notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of PARMA FC's Silvério Prado. Silvério Prado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Telmo Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Silvério Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the PARMA FC defense, Damazy Kostrzewski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvério Prado. The PARMA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvério Prado should have stopped the shot. Luiz Fabiano Paiva was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Ismael Tinoco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ismael Tinoco really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Sílvio Luiz Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Luiz Fabiano Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Paulinho de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Paulinho de Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PARMA FC's Silvério Prado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, SC ITAJAI could leave the field as winners, despite PARMA FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
