The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Itatuba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Rubens Quirino managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Icoara Football Club's Dito Ramos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Erik Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Quirino having to interfere.

Rubens Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Cabral in the 53rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dito Ramos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Quirino was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Erik Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Quirino having to interfere. Durval Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aloísio Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik Antunes took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubens Quirino. Rubens Quirino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After a defensive mix-up in Itatuba SS's zone, Erik Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Quirino came out of the goal and Erik Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Itatuba SS's Rubens Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Ramos in the 76th minute of play. Dito Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cipriano Santana scored 6-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens Quirino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 83 minutes, Romário Bertassi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icoara Football Club and the Itatuba SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Belmiro Cabral fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icoara Football Club's protests and gave Belmiro Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. Belmiro Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Icoara Football Club had played much better football throughout.
