Sydney da Mata charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sydney da Mata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PIX COMCU booed when SC ITAJAI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Márcio Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney da Mata in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Damazy Kostrzewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorginho Matorin to strike the kick off in the second half. Allan Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Narciso Garcia during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
