Gerson Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Recife in the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th minute Aloísio Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Itatuba SS getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Aloísio Recife hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Aloísio Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th match minute, Itatuba SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Rubens Quirino made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Nando de Sousa sent off a good shot on target.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nando de Sousa made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Itatuba SS got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Paulista. Nando de Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rubens Quirino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nando de Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Hugo Mendonça got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Recompensa's Gerson Nóbrega got control of the ball when Teodoro Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 68th minute of the match Aloísio Recife completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aloísio Recife a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Itatuba SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Aloísio Recife hit a great ball. After 70 minutes, Baltazar de Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itatuba SS and the Recompensa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedrinho Aguiar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rubens Quirino. Itatuba SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Baltazar de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Gerson Nóbrega was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rubens Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nando de Sousa's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Hugo Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86 played minutes Recompensa got a freekick which was hit by Pedrinho Aguiar. Gerson Nóbrega didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Mendonça went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itatuba SS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
