When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ambrosio Faron to strike the kick off in the second half. Narciso Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ESTOPIM CAMPINAS's Jedrzej Domalik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save ESTOPIM CAMPINAS from getting a goal against them. When Luciano Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Sao Cristovao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Fonseca couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute, Luciano Fonseca fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jedrzej Domalik, passed just outside the right post. Jedrzej Domalik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Sarmento in the 80th minute. Luciano Fonseca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jedrzej Domalik came out and tried to block the shot, but Luciano Fonseca slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 84th minute. If Luciano Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Luciano Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jedrzej Domalik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sao Cristovao's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
