In the 20th match minute, Maceió Ice Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Couto to maneuver through the defense. The Paulas fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Paulas's Jânio Bertassi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jânio Bertassi in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Ferraz saved Maceió Ice Dragons from getting behind. Luís Paulo Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Paulão Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jânio Bertassi's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Leonardo Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After some careless play in the Maceió Ice Dragons defense, Gilmar Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Ferraz. The Maceió Ice Dragons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Ferraz should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulão Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Maceió Ice Dragons got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Ramalho. Luís Paulo Dias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Aparecido having to make a save. Richard Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luís Paulo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Maceió Ice Dragons's Luís Paulo Dias got a free kick in the 71st minute. A hard shot 72 in the game by Jânio Bertassi from a close distance when the talented Richard Ferraz managed to make a qualified save. Maceió Ice Dragons's players were relieved. Gilmar Reis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jânio Bertassi got free with Richard Ferraz in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Sergipano during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomás Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Maceió Ice Dragons supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Paulas's performance. The match ended with a win for Paulas.
