After 25 minutes, Alfredo Novaes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mataruna EC and the Noroeste Paulista players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Noroeste Paulista booed when Mataruna EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dário Goiano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dinei Laguna showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 7-0 in the 26 minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Mataruna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Mendonça lost his temper 42 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Noroeste Paulista:s Damaso Roldanillo showed great skill when he stopped Valdo Barros:s penalty.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdo Barros to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 50th minute, Sergio Montrel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Noroeste Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Montrel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dário Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Alfons Persson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dário Goiano. Mataruna EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfons Persson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. Dário Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Montrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Alfons Persson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dário Goiano. Mataruna EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Noroeste Paulista's Sergio Montrel got a free kick in the 64th minute. Noroeste Paulista's Damaso Roldanillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Rezende in the 65th minute of play. If Sergio Montrel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 68 minutes into the game, Dinei Laguna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-1. Dário Goiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfons Persson took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dário Goiano. Dário Goiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-1. Noroeste Paulista made a substitution. Ronaldo Maradona replaced Dinei Laguna. After 88 minutes of play, Noroeste Paulista's Alfons Persson made it 13-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dário Goiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Valdo Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
