Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luís Gustavo Brito kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Luís Gustavo Brito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dário Goiano. Mataruna EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Gustavo Brito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Luís Gustavo Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdo Barros got free with Délio Pombal in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 18 minutes, Samuca Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mataruna EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 played minutes Mataruna EC got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Melo. Délio Pombal came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Mataruna EC's Valdo Barros. But to his dismay, Valdo Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Luís Gustavo Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Samuca Peres reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Délio Pombal. The goal made the score 3-1. During the 43rd minute of the match Luís Gustavo Brito completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luís Gustavo Brito a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 44th minute, Luís Gustavo Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 45 minutes, Samuca Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mataruna EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Délio Pombal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Valdo Barros showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-1 in the 47 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

A collision led to Wiig getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Afonsinho Veiga hit a great ball. Wiig's Délio Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Barros in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Valdo Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Délio Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Mataruna EC's goalkeeper Dário Goiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonsinho Veiga. After a defensive mix-up in Wiig's zone, Samuca Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Délio Pombal came out of the goal and Samuca Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinei Valladares during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Wiig getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Claudinei Valladares hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Wiig's Alfredão Gonçalves got a free kick in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the game, Mataruna EC's Valdo Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Délio Pombal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Tião de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dário Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Barros in the 86th minute of play forced Wiig's goalkeeper Délio Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Tião de Medeiros made a precise shot to the right of Dário Goiano. Mataruna EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. In the 92nd minute, Samuca Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Mataruna EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
