Dário Goiano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caetano Chaves went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdo Barros got free with José Paulo Cosme in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valdo Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but José Paulo Cosme made a huge save. Dário Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luiz Negri in the 92nd minute of play. If Valdo Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mataruna EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
