But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natã Lira couldn't finish the play. Frederico Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35 played minutes Sao Cristovao got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio de Godoi. After 37 minutes, Joel Custódio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salqueiro EC and the Sao Cristovao players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Salqueiro EC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Joel Custódio hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sao Cristovao's Silas Baptista got a free kick in the 39th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Fonseca to strike the kick off in the second half.
