Bruno Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Duarte Proença in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Curinhaem's goal looked a bit too open when Tancredo Zamudio came free, but Eliseu Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Tancredo Zamudio made a precise shot to the right of Eliseu Custódio. Curinhaem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Eliseu Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tancredo Zamudio in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo de Sena during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 played minutes Rio Tavares Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo de Sena. Bruno Paraense was a little too slow when Juninho Lira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 30 played minutes Rio Tavares Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Machado. Alex Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Curinhaem's Glauco Mandrak got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bruno Paraense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tancredo Zamudio in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Custódio saved Curinhaem from getting behind. Duarte Proença charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duarte Proença the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rio Tavares Esporte Clube booed when Curinhaem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tancredo Zamudio came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Rio Tavares Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tancredo Zamudio couldn't finish the play. If Tancredo Zamudio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tancredo Zamudio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Curinhaem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Eliseu Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tancredo Zamudio in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Curinhaem defense, Tancredo Zamudio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseu Custódio. The Curinhaem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseu Custódio should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute, Duarte Proença made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Paraense. Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. A collision led to Rio Tavares Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Rômulo de Sena hit a great ball. Duarte Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Paraense having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Lima came free, but Bruno Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseu Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tancredo Zamudio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Curinhaem had played much better football throughout.
