After 5 minutes, Aílton Paraibano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CR Alanzinho and the Curinhaem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes CR Alanzinho got a freekick which was hit by Aílton Paraibano. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juninho Lira in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oséias Secco saved CR Alanzinho from getting behind. 11 minutes into the game, Curinhaem's Júnior Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oséias Secco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 15 minutes, Dinei Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CR Alanzinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dinei Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Curinhaem's Emerson Dracena got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Juninho Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 20 minutes into the game, Curinhaem's Júnior Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oséias Secco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With a little luck, Curinhaem's Eliseu Custódio got control of the ball when Dinei Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Henrique França fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CR Alanzinho's protests and gave Henrique França a yellow card for diving instead. 26 minutes into the match, Júnior Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oséias Secco. CR Alanzinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Oséias Secco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juninho Lira went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Oséias Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Toninho Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CR Alanzinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Albuquerque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilson Porto charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilson Porto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Curinhaem fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Eliseu Custódio, was totally fooled by CR Alanzinho's Luiz Fábio Carioca, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The CR Alanzinho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Curinhaem were winning 1-4.

The wind increased when Toninho Albuquerque made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Júnior Lima dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oséias Secco, 1-5. After a rather tough play, CR Alanzinho's Toninho Albuquerque got a free kick in the 66th minute. 72 minutes into the game, one of CR Alanzinho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Juninho Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oséias Secco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Júnior Lima showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-7 in the 78 minute of play. Júnior Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Secco having to interfere. Juninho Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Oséias Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Liras short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Oséias Secco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Lima in the 96th minute of play forced CR Alanzinho's goalkeeper Oséias Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juninho Liras short, quick shot in the 98thth minute got Oséias Secco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Curinhaem supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Curinhaem would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
