The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eliseu Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Osvaldinho Leme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Paraense. Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldinho Leme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of Rio Tavares Esporte Clube booed when Estrada das Areias FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Rômulo de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tancredo Zamudio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29thth minute of the game Tancredo Zamudio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrada das Areias FC's Eliseu Sabóia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hudson da Costa was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 31st minute, Hudson da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fellipe Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Eliseu Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Denílson Leão rounded Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. 43 minutes into the match, Estrada das Areias FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tancredo Zamudio came free, but Eliseu Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute Fellipe Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tancredo Zamudio to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Estrada das Areias FC booed when Rio Tavares Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Matthew didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fellipe Botelho came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eliseu Sabóia could save by the left post. Enéas Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldinho Leme in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Paraense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bruno Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Proença in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute Tancredo Zamudio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
