The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Diamantino Capixaba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leverger F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curinhaem the free kick. The attack was good, but when Arlindo Montenegro in the 6th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Curinhaem's Júnior Lima in the 10th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Pedro Luís Paes was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Leverger F.C through an amazing save. Pedro Luís Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Dracena in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arlindo Montenegro in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Custódio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Júnior Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curinhaem's supporters rose to their feet, but Júnior Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luís Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leverger F.C's Diamantino Capixaba got his second yellow card of the match in the 16th minute. Kléberson Loureiro charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kléberson Loureiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pedro Luís Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Lima in the 77th minute of the match. Pedro Luís Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Célio Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Glauco Mandrak shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Leverger F.C's Pedro Luís Paes to catch but Glauco Mandrak was lucky. It became 3-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Pedro Luís Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. If Júnior Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luís Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Lima in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Leverger F.C players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Curinhaem.
