Abel Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karol Swiderski, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Cássio Maranhense's late challenge caught a Sev Hortolândia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cássio Maranhense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, SOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Abel Novaes made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Jozef Madej sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Natanael de Azevedo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abel Novaes. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, SOL's Benjamin Lucas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vivaldo Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! SOL's Abel Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karol Swiderski in the 19th minute of play. Abel Novaes made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Jozef Madej sent off a good shot on target. Jozef Madej's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Abel Novaes firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sev Hortolândia! The referee gave SOL a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jânio Ferreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sev Hortolândia's Vivaldo Vale. 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karol Swiderski got free with Abel Novaes in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute Karol Swiderski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sev Hortolândia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zagloul Bolt during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Wilson Guedes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of SOL booed when Sev Hortolândia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernard Terasek didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Mário de Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vivaldo Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Rezende in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Novaes saved SOL from getting behind. Abel Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Swiderski in the 60th minute of the match. Abel Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael de Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Natanael de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Novaes having to interfere. After 72 played minutes, SOL's Mário de Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vivaldo Vale came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SOL reached it. In the 73rd minute, Ernesto Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SOL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Rezende was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Ernesto Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes SOL got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Fonseca. The Sev Hortolândia manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SOL to win.
