After 4 played minutes Grêmio Vista Alegre got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Faria. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reynaldo Albuquerque during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Toca Popeye's Oswaldo Paranaense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 11 minutes into the game, Toca Popeye's Marc Pettersson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 16th minute, Toca Popeye's Cauã Berger dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. If Flavinho Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Josué Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Faria in the 25th minute of the match. Daniel Lima was a little too slow when Cauã Berger got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 4-0. Cauã Berger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Lima came out and tried to block the shot, but Cauã Berger slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horácio Faria to make the kick off. A collision led to Grêmio Vista Alegre getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Doni Furtado hit a great ball. Doni Furtado made in the 56th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Claudinho Reis immediately put the ball in play. Horácio Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marc Pettersson in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Lima saved Grêmio Vista Alegre from getting behind. Marc Pettersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 68 minutes into the match, Grêmio Vista Alegre's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Pettersson came free, but Daniel Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 played minutes Toca Popeye got a freekick which was hit by Luiz-Henrique Pesquera. Toca Popeye's Cristóvão Ribeiro was substituted for Cauã Berger. When Toca Popeye's Marc Pettersson in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio Vista Alegre's goalie prevented a goal. The referee gave Toca Popeye a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. Toca Popeye's Cristóvão Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 91 minutes, Carlos Augusto Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toca Popeye and the Grêmio Vista Alegre players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Grêmio Vista Alegre booed when Toca Popeye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute of the match David Borges shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josué Valadares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marc Pettersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Daniel Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Toca Popeye fans cheered their team off the field, for while Grêmio Vista Alegre had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
