Waldir Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Ramalho in the 4th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AC CEОРΙ's Benjamim Falcão got a free kick in the 16th minute. Waldir Recife came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Avellar FC's Luís Fernando Quintal. But to his dismay, Luís Fernando Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Ramalho in the 21st minute of play forced AC CEОРΙ's goalkeeper Waldir Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldir Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fábio Ramalho's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Glauco Maia's late challenge caught a Avellar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glauco Maia helped the player get up and apologised. 55 minutes into the match, AC CEОРΙ's goal looked a bit too open when Gino da Costa came free, but Waldir Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldir Recife made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Luís Fernando Quintal sent off a good shot on target. If Mauro Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avellar FC's goalkeeper Pedrão de Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AC CEОРΙ's Waldir Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juarês Leite in the 68th minute of play. When Fábio Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Avellar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Ramalho couldn't finish the play. Juarês Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Waldir Recife was a little too slow when Fábio Ramalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-2. Avellar FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
