To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to AC CEОРΙ getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Benjamim Falcão hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Sabóia in the 42nd minute of play forced AC CEОРΙ's goalkeeper Waldir Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AC CEОРΙ's Mauro Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AC CEОРΙ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
