Sandro de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Remo Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony da Fonseca during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Freixeira FC's Tony da Fonseca got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Marcos Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the EC Mogiana defense, Pedro Leme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertinho de Amaral. The EC Mogiana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertinho de Amaral should have stopped the shot. EC Mogiana's Albertinho de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Porto in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Cafu Koehler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertinho de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adilson Porto's late challenge caught a EC Mogiana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adilson Porto helped the player get up and apologised. Adilson Porto hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Albertinho de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After some careless play in the EC Mogiana defense, Adilson Porto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertinho de Amaral. The EC Mogiana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertinho de Amaral should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro de Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Rossi took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo Messias. Remo Messias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony da Fonseca got free with Albertinho de Amaral in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute Adilson Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertinho de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 played minutes Freixeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Leme. EC Mogiana's Albertinho de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save EC Mogiana from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes into the match, Adilson Porto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albertinho de Amaral. EC Mogiana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adilson Porto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 75th minute, Sandro de Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remo Messias was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Remo Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Rossi in the 80th minute of the match. Albertinho de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. With a little luck, EC Mogiana's Albertinho de Amaral got control of the ball when Pedro Leme tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adilson Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertinho de Amaral having to interfere. Albertinho de Amaral was a little too slow when Adilson Porto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 2-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Freixeira FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
