Rodriguinho Macedo charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodriguinho Macedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Rodriguinho Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Teodosio Aguilera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Lacothengo de Futiboloca's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Cruz came free, but Wambasther Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teodosio Aguilera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jorginho da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, José Pedro da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mostardeiro Grêmio's supporters rose to their feet, but José Pedro da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wambasther Barthez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorginho da Cunha stood somewhat misplaced when Teodosio Aguilera came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 26 minute. After 37 minutes, José Pedro da Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mostardeiro Grêmio and the Lacothengo de Futiboloca players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lacothengo de Futiboloca booed when Mostardeiro Grêmio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fausto Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jorginho da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodosio Aguilera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murilo Veloso hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodosio Aguilera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lacothengo de Futiboloca's Fausto Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute Teodosio Aguilera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rodriguinho Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Mostardeiro Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodriguinho Macedo couldn't finish the play. After 56 played minutes Lacothengo de Futiboloca got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Quintin. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lacothengo de Futiboloca fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Pedro Paulo Cruz shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 60 minutes into the game, Teodosio Aguilera cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jorginho da Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 67 minutes into the game, José Pedro da Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Wambasther Barthez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wambasther Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Murilo Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Aguilera in the 77th minute of play forced Mostardeiro Grêmio's goalkeeper Jorginho da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Leal struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Jorginho da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lacothengo de Futiboloca. Teodosio Aguilera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jorginho da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fausto Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodosio Aguilera in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorginho da Cunha saved Mostardeiro Grêmio from getting behind. Paulo Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lacothengo de Futiboloca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
