The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Golden Bladers FC got a freekick which was hit by Joel Pontes. After a defensive mix-up in TRICOLOR's zone, Mário Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Proença came out of the goal and Mário Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vito de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Vergílio in the 10th minute of play. With a little luck, Golden Bladers FC's Vito de Moraes got control of the ball when Giovani Cardozo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inácio Cearense took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denílson Proença. Denílson Proença dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Inácio Cearense struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Denílson Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golden Bladers FC. Dráuzio Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Denílson Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Golden Bladers FC booed when TRICOLOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Mário Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golden Bladers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Penha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, TRICOLOR's Ediberto Negri got a free kick in the 48th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inácio Cearense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Denílson Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Penha in the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, TRICOLOR's Denílson Proença got control of the ball when Inácio Cearense tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 66 played minutes TRICOLOR got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Negri. In the 70th minute Ediberto Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vito de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Inácio Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 95 minutes, Inácio Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golden Bladers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denílson Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Penha in the 98th minute of the match. The Golden Bladers FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
