The crowd rose to their feet as Maripá-PR's César Secco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chicão Novaes. That made the score 2-0 after 33 minutes of play. A collision led to Maripá-PR getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Cristóvão de Mendonça hit a great ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Marquinhos Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Antinha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kléberson Gaspar in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Chicão Novaes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marquinhos Cardoso to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kléberson Gaspar in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
