The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Neves struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Vito de Moraes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pendotiba. In the 5th minute Paulo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Neves in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vito de Moraes saved Golden Bladers FC from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, Paulo Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vito de Moraes. Golden Bladers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Pendotiba's Allan Arruda got a free kick in the 12th minute. With a little luck, Pendotiba's Kuno Heiberg got control of the ball when Inácio Cearense tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Pendotiba booed when Golden Bladers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Golden Bladers FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! The referee gave Pendotiba a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristian Hoffmann, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Golden Bladers FC's Vito de Moraes. 0-2. Paulo Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Neves in the 26th managed to get into a good position. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Joel Pontes with Inácio Cearense as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Paulo Neves came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Pendotiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Neves couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Golden Bladers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Hoffmann came free, but Vito de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josué Paraíba hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Paulo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vito de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Golden Bladers FC's Vito de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Neves in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Cearense was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Hoffmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Vito de Moraes 51 minutes into the match. 55 minutes in the game Joel Pontes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Inácio Cearense. Vito de Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Neves went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Vito de Moraes was a little too slow when Paulo Neves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-6. Golden Bladers FC's Vito de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Neves in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute of the game Joel Pontes made a throw-in which Inácio Cearense played forward. After 71 played minutes Pendotiba got a freekick which was hit by Allan Arruda. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Golden Bladers FC's goalkeeper Vito de Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, Pendotiba's Paulo Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vito de Moraes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Vito de Moraes was a little too slow when Paulo Neves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-8. When Paulo Neves came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Pendotiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Neves couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Pendotiba's Vito de Moraes threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dinei Paraibano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pendotiba's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
