Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bruninho Vergílio took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldinho Azevedo in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danilo Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Giggantes FC's João Carlos Rosa got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 9 minutes Giggantes FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gil Tande who took care of the corner kick. In the 12th minute, Giggantes FC's João Carlos Rosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Denílson Proença. Denílson Proença yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Denílson Proença made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Emílio Baiano sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, TRICOLOR's Denílson Proença got control of the ball when Emílio Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, João Carlos Rosa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Denílson Proença, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to TRICOLOR getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ediberto Negri hit a great ball. Danilo Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruninho Vergílio in the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Osvaldinho Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ediberto Negri was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. After 29 played minutes TRICOLOR got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Negri. The supporters of Giggantes FC booed when TRICOLOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Baiano got free with Denílson Proença in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Carlos Rosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Denílson Proença made a huge save. Bruninho Vergílio hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for TRICOLOR! Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

João Carlos Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denílson Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Carlos Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Denílson Proença didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emílio Baiano went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. João Carlos Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When João Carlos Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Giggantes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Carlos Rosa couldn't finish the play. Denílson Proença didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emílio Baiano went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Emílio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruninho Vergílio took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danilo Figueiredo. Danilo Figueiredo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Carlos Rosa in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denílson Proença saved TRICOLOR from getting behind. Osvaldinho Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Danilo Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind TRICOLOR's goalkeeper Denílson Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Giggantes FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while TRICOLOR had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
