The supporters of Corinthians do Interior booed when Apinage SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Fabiano Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel da Cunha in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Roberto Siqueira saved Corinthians do Interior from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Samuel da Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfredinho Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Giovani Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Edu de Sousa took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Roberto Siqueira. Zé Roberto Siqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. In the 91st minute Samuel da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Roberto Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corinthians do Interior's Zé Roberto Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel da Cunha in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Alfredinho Valladares fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Richard de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Richard de Mendonça acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 99th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Betinho Medeiros. Corinthians do Interior's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
