Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lino Tavares made the kick off and thus started the match. Ricardinho Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Marquez in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Freire in the 9th minute of play forced Iracema's goalkeeper Ricardinho Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Ernesto Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Edmílson Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 minutes of play, Iracema's Rogério de Lima made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sydney Britto was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee felt a red card was in order, 19 minutes into the game, when Carlos Alberto Loyola put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Iracema fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Pântano Madrid a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nelson Bastos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Iracema's Ricardinho Fernandes. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Lino Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iracema's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sydney Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emerson Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Tavares's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Raimundo Guerra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sydney Britto skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Iracema booed when Pântano Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When André Luís Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iracema's protests and gave André Luís Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. A beautiful save bye Iracema's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Raimundo Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iracema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldão Marquez was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Iracema's Ricardinho Fernandes got control of the ball when Ernesto Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Iracema's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Marquez came free, but Ricardinho Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrique Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ernesto Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Favoretto hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Pântano Madrid's Nelson Bastos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardinho Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Artur Siqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardinho Fernandes was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Ronaldão Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ricardinho Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pântano Madrid players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Iracema.
