Carlinhos Madureira started the match with the kick off. Rio Bonito do Iguaçu's Geraldo Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Lima in the 3rd minute of play. Benito Qwinton hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlinhos Madureira in the 6th minute of play forced S.E.R Vila Maria FC's goalkeeper Diego Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladimir Lima in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geraldo Pitta saved Rio Bonito do Iguaçu from getting behind. João Carlos de Godoi hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Miguel Trancoso took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Geraldo Pitta. Geraldo Pitta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 20th match minute, S.E.R Vila Maria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. After 22 minutes, Benito Qwinton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.E.R Vila Maria FC and the Rio Bonito do Iguaçu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benito Qwinton hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Benito Qwinton kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Vladimir Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu's zone, Miguel Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo Pitta came out of the goal and Miguel Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, Carlinhos Madureira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rio Bonito do Iguaçu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Dário Palmeira fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E.R Vila Maria FC's protests and gave Dário Palmeira a yellow card for diving instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vladimir Lima made a kick off. If Bernardinho Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, S.E.R Vila Maria FC's Juvenal de Souza got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute Vladimir Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute of the match Duda Prata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the game, one of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for S.E.R Vila Maria FC. Juvenal de Souza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Geraldo Pitta. 2-1. A collision led to Rio Bonito do Iguaçu getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Hernani Jacinto hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, S.E.R Vila Maria FC's Juvenal de Souza got a free kick in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in S.E.R Vila Maria FC's zone, Bernardinho Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Alves came out of the goal and Bernardinho Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rio Bonito do Iguaçu's Bernardinho Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rio Bonito do Iguaçu's Geraldo Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Trancoso in the 84th minute of play. Caco Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Geraldo Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geraldo Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Toledo in the 88th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, S.E.R Vila Maria FC's Vladimir Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geraldo Pitta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Bernardinho Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rio Bonito do Iguaçu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardinho Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. S.E.R Vila Maria FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
