Faustão Marinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delfim Cordeiro having to make a save. In the 20th minute, Wellington Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Ricardo Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Test's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibipetum EC the free kick. Ricardo Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Faustão Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Delfim Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Test booed when Ibipetum EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faustão Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Durvalino Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Urbano in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Azim Talaz saved Ibipetum EC from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Faustão Marinho made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Ibipetum EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Toninho de Alcântara fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Durvalino Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azim Talaz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustão Marinho in the 57th minute of play forced Test's goalkeeper Delfim Cordeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Cordeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faustão Marinho's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Azim Talaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durvalino Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. With a little luck, Ibipetum EC's Azim Talaz got control of the ball when Toninho de Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toninho de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibipetum EC's Azim Talaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Urbano in the 76th minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Test's Eusébio Xavier tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Test's zone, Faustão Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delfim Cordeiro came out of the goal and Faustão Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar Mazza's late challenge caught a Test's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilmar Mazza helped the player get up and apologised. Nilmar Mazza hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Toninho de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 played minutes Ibipetum EC got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Mazza. Test's Eusébio Xavier shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 89th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Azim Talaz but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Durvalino Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Test's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Azim Talaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Toninho de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Test fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Test's Delfim Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Mazza in the 95th minute of play.
