In the 3rd minute, one of Sem Esperança:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sem Esperança. Carlos Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 9 minutes into the match, Hugo Peres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio do Vale. Sem Esperança's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Peres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Sem Esperança's Cássio do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Brodel in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Cristiano de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PEGARU FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Sem Esperança's Cássio do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredão Alagoano in the 20th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Alfredão Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos de Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcos de Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcos de Almeida hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Julian Klæboe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 46 minutes of play, PEGARU FC's Cristiano de Mendonça made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio do Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Sem Esperança booed when PEGARU FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vítor Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Julian Klæboe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurinho Tande. PEGARU FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Klæboe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano de Mendonça got free with Cássio do Vale in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julian Klæboe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Tande having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, PEGARU FC's Cristiano de Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cássio do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Cristiano de Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Cássio do Vale made a huge save. Sem Esperança's Cássio do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Sem Esperança from getting a goal against them.
