The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Geléia FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jairo Nóbrega hit a great ball. A hard shot by Olavo de Azevedo from long distance, 5 minutes into the match, got Luís Paulo Mandrak's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 10th minute Kléber Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Paulo Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Torres in the 13th minute of the match. FC Catalunha's João Carlos Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Nazario in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, FC Catalunha's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Nazario came free, but João Carlos Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Geléia FC were awarded a corner. Jairo Nóbrega went to the cornerflag to take it. Remo Moreno was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Luís Paulo Mandrak made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Adilson Guerra sent off a good shot on target. FC Catalunha's João Carlos Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Nazario in the 38th minute of play. João Carlos Vale came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Geléia FC's Ronaldo Nazario. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Nazario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Nazario made the kick off in the second half. Adilson Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Carlos Vale was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Ronaldo Nazario capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ronaldo Nazario really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Ronaldo Nazario struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. João Carlos Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geléia FC. After 64 played minutes Geléia FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Nóbrega. Olavo de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Paulo Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Dito Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Geléia FC's Dito Vergílio got a free kick in the 69th minute. Luís Paulo Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Dagoberto Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Remo Moreno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geléia FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Luís Paulo Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Torres in the 82nd minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Jeremias Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geléia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Catalunha the free kick. Jeremias Nogueira hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Geléia FC defense, Fred Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Paulo Mandrak. The Geléia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Paulo Mandrak should have stopped the shot. Luís Paulo Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Torres in the 91st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Ronaldo Nazario took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for João Carlos Vale to make any attempt to save it. The FC Catalunha supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Geléia FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Geléia FC.
