Maurinho Tande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. 4 minutes into the match, Armando Piccoli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurinho Tande. PEGARU FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Piccoli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Maurinho Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Veiga in the 7th minute of play. The Santos FC fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Santos FC's Armando Piccoli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Maurinho Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Veiga in the 11th minute of the match. If José Maria Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 17 minutes, Armando Piccoli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Piccoli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurinho Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Arnaldo Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Santos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Velasco couldn't finish the play. Elano Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Maurinho Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamílton de Queiroz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The Santos FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Santos FC's Armando Piccoli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Elano Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurinho Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Armando Piccoli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurinho Tande was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Arnaldo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Tande having to interfere. Maurinho Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Piccoli in the 43rd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Santos FC's corner Walmir Penha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Maurinho Tande quite easily take care of the ball.

Cristiano de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sigvald Sadolin having to interfere. Maurinho Tande was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Elano Veiga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elano Veiga really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 68th match minute, PEGARU FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Maurinho Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Veiga in the 79th minute of the match. Sigvald Sadolin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredão Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Armando Piccoli lined in a short shot 0-8 behind a frustrated Maurinho Tande. Maurinho Tande was a little too slow when Armando Piccoli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-9. 92 minutes into the game, Carlos Brodel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-9. Sigvald Sadolin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Santos FC played a much better game than PEGARU FC and deserved their victory. The PEGARU FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
