In the 9thth minute of the game Armando Piccoli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaguas FC's Ulysses Barral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th minute, Jaguas FC's Jeferson Nogueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Santos FC's Armando Piccoli in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Arnaldo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Barral having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Jaguas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Veiga came free, but Ulysses Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was a penalty for Jaguas FC! The goalkeeper, Ulysses Barral, was totally fooled by Santos FC's Walmir Penha, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Luiz Fernando de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elano Veiga in the 97th minute of play forced Jaguas FC's goalkeeper Ulysses Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Santos FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jaguas FC.
