The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernandão Alcântara during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernandão Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Norma FC's Fernandão Alcântara got a free kick in the 8th minute. Enginalp Afşar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Viamão F.C. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Romário Alcântara hit a great ball. Fábio Oliveira came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Viamão F.C.'s Álvaro Bentes. But to his dismay, Álvaro Bentes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 31stth minute of the game Ricardo Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viamão F.C.'s Enginalp Afşar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Júnior Vidal hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Enginalp Afşar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardo Fonseca in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Fonseca made a kick off. Fábio Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Marek Koniarek sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th minute, Jonas Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enginalp Afşar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Waldemar Fantini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Ricardo Fonseca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enginalp Afşar. Viamão F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardo Fonseca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Viamão F.C.'s Marek Koniarek got a free kick in the 66th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Ricardo Fonseca notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Viamão F.C.'s Enginalp Afşar. Enginalp Afşar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fábio Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 82nd minute, Viamão F.C.'s Álvaro Bentes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Norma FC's Fábio Oliveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Norma FC from getting a goal against them. If Ricardo Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Viamão F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Viamão F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
