The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Roberto Velasco got free with Víktor Sá in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Rosado in the 4th minute of play forced Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Júbilo Iwata defense, Baltazar Rosado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Pena. The Júbilo Iwata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Pena should have stopped the shot. Clube Atlético Maverick's Baltazar Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Celso Lopes notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Clube Atlético Maverick's Víktor Sá. Víktor Sá was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcel Lira scored 2-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Víktor Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Víktor Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Baltazar Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Maverick's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Rosado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Roberto Velasco struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Víktor Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Júbilo Iwata. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel Lira in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Víktor Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Baltazar Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Clube Atlético Maverick fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltazar Rosado couldn't finish the play. Celso Lopes struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Víktor Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Júbilo Iwata. 28 minutes into the game, Marcel Lira lined in a short shot 3-1 behind a frustrated Víktor Sá. 32 minutes into the match, Marcel Lira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Víktor Sá. Clube Atlético Maverick's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Lira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. When Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Maverick's goalie prevented a goal. Sandrinho Lopes hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the game, Celso Lopes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Víktor Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcel Lira was the one to do the kick off. Marcel Lira scored 6-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Víktor Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Víktor Sá narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcel Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Zé Roberto Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Júbilo Iwata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Víktor Sá came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira. But to his dismay, Marcel Lira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. If Celso Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 79 minutes into the game, Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Víktor Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. In the 83rd minute, Zé Roberto Velasco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Júbilo Iwata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-1. 86 minutes into the game, Marcel Lira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-1. Víktor Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th match minute, Clube Atlético Maverick was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Domingues to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Maverick's zone, Chico Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víktor Sá came out of the goal and Chico Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júbilo Iwata's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
