After having played for 35 minutes, Jarbas Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarulhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarbas Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Lira in the 37th minute of play forced Guarulhos's goalkeeper Toninho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Lira in the 38th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Ivan Xabier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toninho de Salles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Guarulhos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Júbilo Iwata were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabinho de Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. After 54th play minutes Ivan Xabier shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Toninho de Salles and just under the crossbar into goal. Donato Alves hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Marcel Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho de Salles having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Mazinho Correia got a free kick in the 70th minute. Giovanni Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 81 played minutes Guarulhos got a freekick which was hit by Célio Toscano. In the 81st minute of the match Chico Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toninho de Salles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 84 minutes of play, Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toninho de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Álvaro Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. When the match was over Júbilo Iwata could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guarulhos throughout the match.
