In the 25th minute of the match, João Paulo Lucas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Giovanni Pena was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Celso Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. José Augusto Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ZURC FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Júbilo Iwata the free kick. Júbilo Iwata's Elenko Hrulev was substituted for Dedé de Castro. In the 41st minute, Thiago Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Augusto Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Xabier, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Xabier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Gualter Donato fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ZURC FC's protests and gave Gualter Donato a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, ZURC FC's Gualter Donato got a free kick in the 53rd minute. José Augusto Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Zé Roberto Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Augusto Soeiro made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Ivan Xabier sent off a good shot on target.
