Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Zé Paulo Cosme made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th match minute, Guarulhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Alves to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Fabinho de Mendonça sped through Sertanejo SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adelino de Moraes. Alfredinho Cordeiro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The Guarulhos fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Guarulhos's Fabinho de Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfredinho Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho de Salles having to interfere. If Fabinho de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Fabinho de Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adelino de Moraes was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Luciano Luz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Benê Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Sertanejo SS getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Zé Paulo Cosme hit a great ball. Jarbas Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Fabinho de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Guarulhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabinho de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Guarulhos were furious when Donato Alves was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 43 minutes into the game, one of Guarulhos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cícero de Salles shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Olívio da Rocha hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Sertanejo SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guarulhos were winning 0-2.

Álvaro Meira fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 53rd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Toninho de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Márcio Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Márcio Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Guarulhos getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Márcio Figueiredo hit a great ball. Álvaro Meira struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Adelino de Moraes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarulhos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Cosme in the 62nd minute of play forced Guarulhos's goalkeeper Toninho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sertanejo SS's Alfredinho Cordeiro in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sertanejo SS's Adelino de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Sertanejo SS from getting a goal against them. In the 71st match minute, Guarulhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Márcio Figueiredo notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sertanejo SS's Adelino de Moraes. Adelino de Moraes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adelino de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Meira in the 79th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Zé Paulo Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabinho de Mendonça during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sertanejo SS booed when Guarulhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball.
