The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ubaldo Montae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Simão in the 6th minute of play. Mazinho Dracena was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ubaldo Montae came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s Túlio Penha. But to his dismay, Túlio Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Marcus Hoffmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FIM the free kick. A collision led to Os LargadoS N.A.S. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Marcus Hoffmann hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Edmondo Mingione put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Juninho Velloso. In the 27th minute Edmondo Mingione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Edmondo Mingione was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FIM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Os LargadoS N.A.S. the free kick. A collision led to FIM getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Edmondo Mingione hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Julio Salinas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FIM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Os LargadoS N.A.S. the free kick. After 35 played minutes FIM got a freekick which was hit by Julio Salinas. With a little luck, Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s Juninho Velloso got control of the ball when Zeca Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Os LargadoS N.A.S. defense, Edmondo Mingione kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Velloso. The Os LargadoS N.A.S. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Velloso should have stopped the shot. 44 minutes into the match, Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Mingione came free, but Juninho Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Túlio Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmondo Mingione made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Roberto Zonta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juninho Velloso was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 55 minutes into the game, Roberto Zonta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Juninho Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Salinas in the 61st minute of play forced Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s goalkeeper Juninho Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Edmondo Mingione managed to get in a good position for a shot. FIM's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmondo Mingione was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of FIM:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Os LargadoS N.A.S.:s goal. Mazinho Dracena hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. The supporters of Os LargadoS N.A.S. booed when FIM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Salinas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Mazinho Dracena could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Ubaldo Montae however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to FIM getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Arnaldo Rocha hit a great ball. Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s Juninho Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Salinas in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Os LargadoS N.A.S.'s zone, Roberto Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Velloso came out of the goal and Roberto Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FIM getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Roberto Zonta hit a great ball. If Julio Salinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in FIM fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! Juninho Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Zonta in the 98th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FIM had won after a very even match.
