With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guto Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When FIM's Edmondo Mingione in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PALHAÇADA FC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of FIM booed when PALHAÇADA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FIM's Zeca Barros got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Julio Salinas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guto Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmondo Mingione, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When PALHAÇADA FC's Sandrinho Netto in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FIM's goalie prevented a goal. In the 19th minute Edmondo Mingione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FIM's Ubaldo Montae proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save FIM from getting a goal against them. Edmondo Mingione sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Pedro Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaldo Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Netto in the 30th minute of the match. Fabrício Munhoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ubaldo Montae made a huge save. Ubaldo Montae came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by PALHAÇADA FC's Fabrício Munhoz. But to his dismay, Fabrício Munhoz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, FIM's goal looked a bit too open when Sandrinho Netto came free, but Ubaldo Montae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmondo Mingione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Brito having to interfere. When Julio Salinas came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the FIM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Salinas couldn't finish the play. In the 44thth minute of the game Edmondo Mingione who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PALHAÇADA FC's Guto Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Nuno Custódio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ubaldo Montae. Nuno Custódio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandrinho Netto made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Sílvio Luiz Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Salinas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FIM's Edmondo Mingione was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Edmondo Mingione had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the last second Guto Brito throw himself and got hold of the ball when Edmondo Mingione in the 66thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, PALHAÇADA FC's Fabrício Munhoz got a free kick in the 67th minute. When FIM's Edmondo Mingione in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. PALHAÇADA FC's Sandrinho Netto got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind PALHAÇADA FC's goalkeeper Guto Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 93rd match minute, PALHAÇADA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrício Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. Dário Saraiva hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
