Cesinha Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Elano Trigo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cícero de Sousa. In the 17th minute, Cesinha Gonçalves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sirinhaem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Elano Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Cícero de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Trigo struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cícero de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sirinhaem. Cícero de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Trigo in the 38th minute of play. If Cesinha Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Leonel Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 53rd minute Jânio Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kleanthis Variamidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sheldon Cooper PHD's goalkeeper Cícero de Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cesinha Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cícero de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Sirinhaem's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Ribeiro came free, but Kleanthis Variamidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Elano Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sirinhaem's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cícero de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elano Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero de Sousa having to interfere. Kleanthis Variamidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 minutes, Ismael Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sheldon Cooper PHD and the Sirinhaem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Sirinhaem defense, Jânio Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kleanthis Variamidis. The Sirinhaem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kleanthis Variamidis should have stopped the shot.
